Objectives

  1. Learn to love the sport
  2. Have a good understanding of appropriate behavior on and off the field.
  3. Have a basic understanding of key vocabulary.
  4. Have a basic understanding of the rules for his/her age group.
  5. Have a basic understanding of courtly graces.

Skills

  1. How to hold the weapons correctly.
  2. How to put on their own armor correctly.
  3. How to be responsible for armor and weapons. (Carrying it to and from the field.)
  4. How to give and take an acceptable blow with single handed weapon, maces, axes, Great or two-handed weapons of an appropriate length.
  5. How to block a blow with weapon and or shield.
  6. How to properly salute the Crown (or representative), Parents, opponent.
  7. How to properly execute a hold.
  8. How to demonstrate proper courtesy at the beginning, middle and end of a bout.
  9. How to execute basic courtly graces. Example: Bowing to the crown, and that they are called your majesty.
  10. Introduce other courtly graces. How to approach the crown/BB in court, the basic courtly graces. Example: Bowing to the crown,
