Objectives
- Learn to love the sport
- Have a good understanding of appropriate behavior on and off the field.
- Have a basic understanding of key vocabulary.
- Have a basic understanding of the rules for his/her age group.
- Have a basic understanding of courtly graces.
Skills
- How to hold the weapons correctly.
- How to put on their own armor correctly.
- How to be responsible for armor and weapons. (Carrying it to and from the field.)
- How to give and take an acceptable blow with single handed weapon, maces, axes, Great or two-handed weapons of an appropriate length.
- How to block a blow with weapon and or shield.
- How to properly salute the Crown (or representative), Parents, opponent.
- How to properly execute a hold.
- How to demonstrate proper courtesy at the beginning, middle and end of a bout.
- How to execute basic courtly graces. Example: Bowing to the crown, and that they are called your majesty.
- Introduce other courtly graces. How to approach the crown/BB in court, the basic courtly graces. Example: Bowing to the crown,
